FLASH NEWS BY SALUSSOLIA & ASSOCIATES. INTERNATIONAL TRAVEL FOR THE UNITED STATES.

With the presidential proclamation of January 25, 2021, US President Joe Biden reconfirmed the restrictions on entry to the United States for travelers from Schengen Area countries. In light of current legislation, the possibility of entry into the United States is still suspended for travelers who, in the previous 14 days, have been in a country of the Schengen Area, in the United Kingdom, in Ireland, in Brazil, in South Africa China or Iran.

The legislation provides for some exceptions both for personal and / or family reasons (US citizens and permanent residents and/or their families, diplomatic visa holders and others) and for those who fall into the category defined as “national interest”. In these cases, US embassies and consulates abroad and the US Department of Homeland Security (DHS) have exclusive jurisdiction over the granting of a special travel permit, also known as the “National Interest Exemption Waiver”.

Special Permit to Travel to the United States may be granted to those who must travel to the United States to carry out life support activities of the critical infrastructure sectors as defined by the Department of Homeland Security or the supply chain connected to the critical infrastructure or those who support directly creating or maintaining jobs in the United States.

Furthermore, there may be other exceptions that allow you to qualify for the aforementioned National Interest Exemption Waiver. Apparently, this also includes participation in horse auctions in the United States such as, by way of example and not limited to, the renowned OBS Ocala Breeders’ Spring Sale thoroughbred auction which will take place in Ocala, Florida on April 20-23, 2021.
